Report: I knew this was going to be my last race of the reason, so I went for it from the gun, taking the whole shot. The course had lots of twists and turns with very few sections to really open it up. My technical skills aren’t great, so I thought I would try to control the pace from the front. This worked until an ECV rider attacked. I followed his wheel and felt fine, but I just couldn’t stay with him through the technical sections. And I burned a lot of matches coming back to him on the straightaways. This frustrating pattern continued throughout the race, really showing me that I need to work on my cornering through the tight and loose stuff for next season. During the last lap, I was riding in 5th at the tail-end of a four-man chase group, still hoping to take second on the day, but I crashed trying to fly through the barriers. I got my foot caught in my rear wheel and knocked my saddle loose, but I only lost one place and was able to catch and pass him before the finish. 5th place.

I learned a lot this season, but I still have so many areas to improve, particularly with my technical skills and tactics.
