I started racing in my freshman year of college after years of doing stupid things on a BMX bike and thinking I was indestructible. I wasn’t particularly good at any one aspect of cycling, but I enjoyed it so much that I just kept plugging away, and eventually had a few decent results. After a brief hiatus from racing due to the overwhelming need to get a job after college, I joined BRC in the mid 90’s. I found that I still wasn’t particularly good, but I hadn’t lost the desire to race. So, twenty-two years after buying my first road bike I’m still at it and I still get the same thrill from riding that I had when I was a kid.
