The BRC organization revolves around the Team Captains who are the vital focus point for each category. Your Captain performs an endless list of invaluable tasks and always remains available for you to ask questions and keep in touch. Your Captain will provide you with continued support and information including the following.

Training rides and schedules.
Racing schedules and participants.
Team strategy at each race.
Coordinating car-pool transportation to races.
Training tips and helpful personal contacts.
Product distribution to Team level members.
Equipment recommendations.
Special training events (guest trainers, mountain climbs, training trips, sprint clinics, etc.)

Contact your team Captain for information, guidance, or support to improve your season and enjoyment of cycling. They welcome your questions and input; and are always looking for opportunities to improve communications within the Club.

Membership Information

The Boston Road Club has grown tremendously since its inception and now has over 150 members. The primary goal of the Club is to promote bicycle racing in the New England region. Club activities include the weekly Wells Ave. training series on Sundays in Newton, training rides, coaching clinics, and USCF teams that race throughout New England.

Membership in the Boston Road Club is open to any person interested in the sport of bicycling, even if you are an active member of another club. There are currently two membership levels with the BRC. A description of the benefits of each membership level are described below.

Associate Membership

The following are benefits that an Associate Membership affords:

discounted entry fee into Wells Avenue training series
ability to purchase a Wells Avenue training race season pass for even further reduced entry fees.
welcome to attend all Boston Road Club meetings, club picnic and the year end banquet

Associate memberships are not eligible:

for sponsor discounts
for team clothing
to win the BRC Club Championship Race
to vote in club elections
to hold BRC Board positions (elected or appointed)
for bulk team purchases at considerable discount from our sponsors
sponsorship promotionsThe cost for the 2007 Boston Road Club Associate Membership is $30/calendar year effective January 1, 2007.

Team Membership

The following are benefits that a Team Membership affords:

discounted entry fee into Wells Avenue training series
ability to purchase a Wells Avenue training race season pass for even further reduced entry fees.
welcome to attend all Boston Road Club meetings, club picnic and the year end banquet
sponsor discounts and promotions
team clothing at reduced cost
eligibility for winning the Club Championship
voting privileges in Club elections
ability to serve on the BRC Board of Directors either as an elected officer or appointed one
base amount of subsidized bulk purchasing of products from our sponsors
additional "profit sharing" in the form of heavily subsidized additional product purchasing, coaching fees, etc. (this is based on mostly on volunteerism and lesser on racing amount and on top of the core team bulk purchase amount)

Please note that in order to qualify for Team Membership benefits, the individual must have "The Boston Road Club" listed as their official club on their USCF license. This will be checked.

The cost for the 2008 Boston Road Club Team Membership is $45/calendar year effective January 1, 2008.

All memberships are valid for the calendar year and expire on December 31, 2008 .

Please note that there is no longer a Club Level Membership for the Boston Road for 2008

WELLS AVE SEASON PASSES

For 2008, BRC will once again be offering Wells Ave Season Passes to BRC Members, at the Associate or Team membership level. The price has been reduced this year to just $75. The purchase price offers a significant discount versus paying the normal entry fee each week at Wells Ave. If you race just ten times the pass has paid for itself. After that, you’re basically racing for free!

Other benefits to the season pass include not having to show your USCF License each week, not having to bring cash with you each week, and new this year, expedited check-in at registration. No more waiting in line for Season Pass holders to register at Wells each week!

Season Passes can be purchased when signing up for a BRC Membership by checking off the box on the form and mailing it in, or submitting it at registration at Wells Ave. A copy of your USCF license must be sent with your membership application or presented to the BRC member accepting the application.

Cash or checks are the only payments accepted. Make checks payable to: The Boston Road Club. Passes must be shown during registration. Passes cannot be shared or transferred.
